@Will_Richmond

Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing.

I still remember where I was when the New England Patriots beat the Oakland Raiders in the Division Round playoff game. Yes, there may have been some of us making snow angels after the game.

While it wasn't Tom Brady's first game, at least in my mind, that was the day that started his legacy, especially when it was followed up with a win over the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI a couple of weeks later.

As they say, the rest is history and Tom Brady helped make plenty of it for Patriot fans. While the franchise has been in a bit of a tailspin the past couple of years, Wednesday night's induction of Brady into the Patriots Hall of Fame served as a great opportunity to remember the greatness we witnessed and the impact he's had on the game.

In a stadium filled with past teammates and special guests, The Journal's Bill Koch was on hand to capture it all and offer his thoughts on what the night meant not just for TB12 but the fans. Check back on providencejournal.com this morning for all of Bill's coverage.

• Edith Littlefield Blane, 95, thetrailblazing first woman to be elected first warden on Block Island, died peacefully at home Monday. The Journal's Katie Mulvaney captures the legacy Blane left behind.

• Do you have plans to catch any concerts this summer? I've got my tickets to the Dave Matthews Band concert in Mansfield and there are plenty of other great acts coming through the area.

• Do you have a favorite beach? How do you choose? It's time to settle the debate once and for all. Voting in round one of our RI's best beach bracket contest opens today and runs through Sunday. Cast your vote and see which beach moves on.

• You might need that favorite beach to cool off in the coming days, as Rhode Island could be facing it's first extended run of hot days. The Journal's Jack Perry lets you know what to expect.
