Damian Wayne Has One of the Batman Family's Deadliest Family Trees (2024)

Damian Wayne's tenure as Robin has been an interesting one. The son of Batman and Talia al Ghul showed up as a mouthy, arrogant kid with the skills of a fully-trained ninja. Damian was entitled, believing that his birthrate was enough to make him the heir to Batman, but at the very least he was able to back up his bluster with skill. Damian Wayne has grown and changed over the years, earning his top spot in the Bat Family through his hard work and skill.

Damian's family tree takes two separate dynasties from the world of superheroes and supervillains, melding them together. Damian has been molded by his two families in many ways, as each member of his immediate family has affected his growth as a hero. Damian is often shown to be Batman at some point in the future, and his family plays a big role in preparing him for that lofty post.

Unfortunately for Ra's and Talia, Quinlan killed Melisande. Ra's al Ghul raised his daughter well, training her to be his successor. Damian Wayne joining his father's side was a blow to his mother, and Talia eventually revealed to her son that she had cloned him. She took a special interest in making this clone superior to her son. She accelerated his aging, had him surgically enhanced and gestated in a whale at a facility known for creating metahumans. Batman and Robin met Heretic several times and saw his ruthlessness when he killed Batman Inc. member Knight.

Heretic set out to prove that he was the better Damian Wayne and impaled Robin in battle. He then beat Batman and Nightwing and the clone returned to his mother, who was appalled that Heretic had actually killed Damian.
