Hello my tangling friends, it’s so good to see you again! Welcome back for another week of creative tangles to explore.

Today’s pretty Florabella tangle is from California CZT Nancy Domnauer and it’s her fourth on the site.

Nancy introduces Florabella ,

This pattern evolved one day when I was trying to deconstruct another pattern. I realized that I didn’t get that pattern correct but that I made something new! I liked what I saw so I tangled it again and again in my notebook.

Florabella is an organic tangle pattern that combines the beauty of Flux, tethered (aka anchored) auras and the Hollibaugh technique.

The word flora refers to plant life. The name Florabella sounds like a combination of the words flora, beauty, Flux and aura. I thought the name was especially appropriate for this pattern.

This pattern bends, flows and fills areas nicely as it grows in an organic way. It’s a meditative pattern to tangle and it’s simple to learn.

Explore this pattern by adding more petal shapes to a single branch, always ‘drawing behind’. Allow your pen to wander on the paper as the Florabella pattern grows and sprouts any which way you like!

The Florabella pattern has many shading and tangleation possibilities. Experiment with shading the thin aura sections on the petals or shade certain petals that are ‘behind’ or ‘in front’ of the others. Play with inking in certain sections, adding orbs and your own tangleations. Enjoy!
