ATV Values | Find Out What It's Worth - ATV Style

This ATV price guide outlines the steps you can take to determine ATV values for trade-in or private sale. ATV Values fluctuate, knowing what an ATV is worth before you buy or sell it will save you money. Avoid overpaying before buying an ATV and don’t lose money by offering an ATV for sale too cheaply.

You have several pricing tools available at your disposal, some services cost money while other sources are completely free to use if you know where to look. I’ve taken the time to list some of the more valuable sources of ATV price information available online and explained how to use them below.

Compare, compare, compare: A good first step in getting an ATV book value is to compare the current average price of other sales of the same make and model you are interested in. To do that you can visit websites that specialize in local ATV sales, including auction, classified and dealer websites, and take note of the current asking prices. How to tell what my atv is worth (1) Compare similarATV brandsof the same age and condition to come up with an accurate valuation.

Consider modifications and upgrades: The ATV you are pricing may have aftermarket components that are considered performance parts which, by virtue of being more desirable, might raise the value of an ATV. It’s important to know that the value of an ATV will not increase by the full retail value of any performance upgrade, in fact it might only increase by 50% of the price of the parts, if that.

Performance parts installed more than a year prior to sale may have lost as much as 90% of their added value and this is especially true for parts subject to normal wear and tear like tires and exhaust parts. Upgrades add to ATV value but not by the full cost of the upgrades themselves.

ATV trade in value vs private sale values: The true value of an ATV depends on whom you are buying it from or selling it to.How to tell what my atv is worth (3) The amount offered for an ATV as atrade invalue will be lower than you could have obtained in a private sale but you are spared the time, energy and cost involved with finding a buyer. The retail value is the price associated with buying an ATV from a licensed business and, though slightly more expensive, you may have recourse if something is wrong with the vehicle.

Private sales should be consideredat your own riskin terms of safety but can also be how you find the best bargain or receive a higher price than you would from a registered dealer. Decide which source is best for you based on your tolerance for risk vs obtaining a better deal.

How much does a new ATV cost?

According to research of 2019 prices online the average cost of a new ATV is just over $11,000. That is the average price for a base model from popular brands. Prices for a brand new ATV range from $4500 for a Chinese import ATV up to $23,999+ for a side by side UTV.

There are stiff penalties to having stolen property in your possession and, at the least, you can expect to lose any money you paid. Be safe!

What is ATV trade-in value?

Trade-in value is the amount of money a dealer is willing to pay for your old ATV when you buy a new one. It’s like receiving a discount on your new ATV price for trading-in the old one. Although most ATV dealers will offer a fair price it’s generally accepted that the offer for your trade-in will be on the low side. You can typically get more for your old ATV if you take the time to prepare it, list it in classifieds yourself, and patiently wait to find a buyer willing to pay your price. By trading-in the old ATV you can skip all of that work, the dealer will do it for you. Trade-in value is typically lower than actual value, they are different values.

Tip: Another way to learn what your quad is worth is to look up your specific make and model in your local classifieds and on popular online marketplaces. How to tell what my atv is worth (5) Find a quad in similar condition and see how much they actually sell for.

  • Is it worth buying a quad bike? Personal experience.

Back to YACOTA website 11/17/2017

Buying an ATV is a real event. It's not like going to the grocery store for bread. There is a burden on the budget, doubts, desires, plans and expectations.

As personal experience shows, expectations and plans run counter to reality. And today I will share my personal experience and feelings after 3 years of owning an ATV.

To begin with, I am an ordinary, average Russian with a family, children and a dacha to boot. Which I go not only in summer, but also in winter. How to tell what my atv is worth (12) Although, of course, in winter it is rarely possible to get out there, but it happens. And of course, working for a supplier of ATVs, I could not help but acquire this machine for country needs.

In my dreams, I imagined how we would ride an ATV every weekend. Drive around the area, discovering new, unexplored places, which, by the way, are very picturesque in our area. How a quadric will facilitate the process of moving your loved one to a store in the nearest village. How grandmother will go for mushrooms and stop lamenting that her legs hurt from a long walk through the forest.

But these are all dreams... But what about reality?

Since the advent of the ATV, we've been riding every weekend. All my friends came to visit. Anyone who wanted to ride a quadric and find out what it is. And the neighbors were not far behind. In the end, everyone rode. They mixed the dirt, traveled around the nearest district and ..... actually everything.

A month later, the ardor began to fade. How to tell what my atv is worth (13) And a month later, the quadric was in the barn and no one really remembered about it. He just got tired like any other "toy".

And everything would be sad if not for the second wave.

After the winter, they began to actively go to the country again. There was no longer that emotional upsurge to the ATV. Well, there is good. But somehow the desire to ride itself began to come. Either the three of us with my husband and son will go to the river, then we will drive to an abandoned training ground, then we even decided on a "long distance" - 72 km to the Oka with a picnic on the shore. And sometimes in the evening we put our son to bed, leave our grandmother to guard, and we ourselves rush on a quadric into the night field to look at the stars. Yes, and dad got the hang of building debris on it to take out, with neighbors who also have quadrics, he began to ride around the area, although earlier he had not been noticed to be attracted to neighbors.

In general, the ATV has a life, though not anyhow bright, but still. How to tell what my atv is worth (14)

Actually what am I leading to and what is the conclusion?

And the conclusion is simple. If there is an opportunity to buy a toy and forget about it in a month, then of course take it. Well, if you are a dreamer like me, then you should know that emotions pass. And if there are at least some household chores for an ATV, it’s very good, consider that you didn’t throw money away in vain. Well, or you are an active person in life and at least a couple of times over the summer you will gather your thoughts and roll out around the district, consider that you also did not spend in vain. The ATV gives many opportunities to diversify the usual course of life, the main thing is not to be lazy, but many people have a problem with this.

Well, I would also note how a small plus in the karma of the quadric is that when you try to gather friends in your country house (and as you know, the older people get, the harder they are to climb and the more often laziness wins), then the quadric will play its part and it will play on your side!

Let's summarize. How to tell what my atv is worth (15)

If there is an opportunity to buy and forget - take it.

If there are business cases that are difficult to solve on your own - take it.

If you are an active person and you can't sit still - take it.

If you also have children and they are just as active and open to the world - take it.

If you are not an ardent outdoor enthusiast, a speck on your clothes causes squeamish shivers and you appear in the country a couple of times during the summer and the budget is not "rubber", then it's not worth it. He's not worth it.

I hope my personal experience will allow you to make the right and optimal decision to BUY A ATV OR NOT.

And finally, I wish you to live an active and vibrant life. Overcome human laziness and discover something new every day!

5 tips on how to test love for your ATV.

05/31/2018

what other people say, love never goes out…

Do you think that is your love waning? We all neglect our true love, then acknowledge this mistake, but still do nothing to solve this problem. How to tell what my atv is worth (16) And what reasons? You are busy until the ride season, or maybe just lazy. BUT maybe you want a new, brighter and younger model?

But you know what? It is your job to keep it so that at any time you can start on rides. So why not give her some time and restore old passion?

Attention! dedicated to taking care of your ATV (and you thought what we are talking about?) not only pleases you that you have properly disposed of your investments, but also prevents premature wear of your quad. We came up with 5 for you tips so you can show your "quad love".

1. Oil and filter change

Time to change oil and filter? Regular oil and filter changes ensure optimal protection and prevent any damage and loss of performance. Better don't try to save money and change the oil filter every time you change it oils. Your quad is a beast that requires a high level service, so do your best for him. Moreover, this the item will cost you inexpensively and take only a few minutes. How to tell what my atv is worth (17)

2. Replacing the air filter

You must let your ATV freely breathe, and a clogged air filter sucks the life out of any engine. Check the air filter. Filthy? Put in a new one before you go anywhere, and since you got there, clean the air intake as well. Ride on two-stroke quad? So, for you, this will mean a double check.

3. Bearing replacement

Old and rusty machines often take on new life with bearings cleaned and lubricated, well or completely replaced. Check all bearings on your ATV, including steering stem bearings, rolling bearings and wheel bearings.

4. Replacement brake pads and fluid

Someday you will have to slow down. We all love to drive fast and hot. But to speed up you have to be able to slow down. Squeaky or frail brakes or their absence can become disaster for you and your ATV. Be sure to fix them! Spend a complete check of the brake system, which includes pillows, rotors, system cables and lever. How to tell what my atv is worth (18)
